Perched above the lively lanes of District 1881, Hotel Morado is a boutique hotel providing travellers with an enriched, authentic stay. By collaborating on their branding since day one, we were able to capture intentional brand photography and cinematic reels that ring true to their values, vision, mission, and brand experience.

Where guests masquerade as locals. Hotel Morado offers a hotel experience feeling more like borrowing the keys to a friend’s holiday home.

With Love, Morado

For travelers who value charm, quality, and experiencing a destination as locals do, Hotel Morado is a boutique stay in the heart of Chilliwack’s District 1881. Unlike big-box hotels, a night here is like you’ve been handed the keys to a friend’s holiday home. Whether you’re here for a weekend, an event, or a work trip, you’ll feel like a welcomed guest; invited in and set up with everything you need, nothing you don’t.

Vision
Where guests masquerade as locals. We offer a stay reminiscent of borrowing the keys to a friend’s holiday home. A place close to everything, full of character, and hard to leave.

Values
+ A place to belong
+ Thoughtful by design
+ The simple pleasures

Voice
A little charming, a little cheeky; always welcoming.

Audience
They seek out places with personality. Travelling to see the world a little differently than they’re used to at home. They’re the type to choose a café croissant over the complimentary buffet breakfast — because let’s be honest, it never tastes quite right. And whether it’s a weekend away, a work trip with breathing room, or they're just passing through, our audience cares about the kind of rich, real experiences you won’t find booking a chain.

Essence

The brand essence, "With love, Morado," originated from a snippet in the brand questionnaire. What began as "the same energy as staying in the guest house of your rich friend with artsy parents after an amazing party" evolved into the idea of being given the keys to your friend's pied-à-terre, with a note highlighting all the local secrets and signed, with love.

This captured the spirit of Hotel Morado, embodying the core behind every thought, intention, and touchpoint of the owners. It reflects the spirit guiding all brand decisions, reminiscent of the small acts of love and care your friend makes in preparation for your arrival.

A brand story inspired by the Joy of Living.

Noticing the simple pleasures of everyday life, enjoying each cup of coffee like it's the last you'll ever have — we positioned the brand as that special place where in-between moments become lasting memories. This intention set the tone for everything that followed. From brand essence, to talent direction on set. It was all rooted in living life to the fullest, being present in the now.

Behind the Story building

A LATE-NIGHT STROLL,
WITH THE WARM GLOW OF STRING LIGHTS
GUIDING YOU TO BED.

THE COMFY CONCAVE OF THE DUVET,
PILLOWS FORMING A FEATHERED FORT
YOU DRIFT OFF.

SUNLIGHT ON THE CEILING
AS THE BLINDS DRAWBACK.
THE BRICK FACADE WARMING
IN THE FIRST LIGHT.
THE ALLEY WAKING UP
JUST BELOW YOUR WINDOW.

A WARM CUP OF SMOKING GUN.
CROISSANT FLAKES CRUMBLING
ACROSS THE SHEETS.

THE BRIGHT AROMA OF HANDMADE SOAP,
STEAM CURLS AROUND YOU.
A NEW DAY BEGINS.

good morning.

WITH LOVE, MORADO

SWEET DREAMS.

Fondly remembered as "Brand Weekend," the final days before opening, where beds were being made, art was yet to cover the walls, and hotel rooms shared pillows for the photoshoot. We brought life to each room, filling them with music, sleepovers, local treats, and cameras, of course. It was a juggling act of film, polaroids, iPhones, DSLRs, and video gear.

By capturing real local couples and high school besties, we encouraged everyone to be silly, make a mess, and find that sweet spot of being on camera while still being wholeheartedly you. As a result, we achieved playfully lived-in visuals, that feel personal and within reach for our audience.
